Wash n’ Go: TWA

Hey Sistas! Here’s a step by step tutorial on how I do my wash n’ go. I figured this would be helpful to those of you starting your natural hair journey!

Step 1:

For my wash n’ go I usually co-wash, but it was time for a wash, so, I started off by washing my hair with a shampoo of my choice. Here I’m using White Rain: Tropical Coconut. You can find this at your local beauty supply shop, and it usually retails at about $1.00. I usually go shampoos with no sulfates but i promise you it gets the job done! After that, I condition my hair. I use L’Oreal Smooth Intense Polishing Conditioner. As soon as you put it in your hair you can immediately feel the difference. It leaves my hair so smooth. I let the conditioner sit for about 10 min. Normally, I just finger comb my hair since my hair is short!

Step 2:

Once I rinse out the conditioner, I DO NOT towel dry my hair. Towel drying your hair can lead to breakage and we do not want that. I let it stay drenched. I feel like drenched hair works best for my desired look. If you want to dry your hair i suggest using an old t-shirt.

Step 3:

After coming out of the shower, while my hair is still drenched, I begin the L.O.C. Method. L.O.C stands for Leave-In, Oil, and Cream. Following the L.O.C Method will leave your hair moisturized. To start off, use the leave-in conditioner of your choice. I use Cantu Argan Oil and I use a generous amount.

Next, is ‘O’ for oil. I usually use Coconut Oil. A little usually goes a long way, but of course I go overboard! Virgin Coconut oil is best, you can get it from places like Whole Foods Market and GNC! Keep in mind that you don’t have to use coconut oil, but i strongly recommend it.

Last is ‘C’ for Cream. I use Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula: Repleneshing Hair Milk. (I know, I’m showering you guys in Coconut oil! LOL coconut oil is the answer to EVERYTHING!) Use any hair cream or hair lotion of your choice! This step is really important for LOCKING IN that moisture!

Step 4:

It doesn’t hurt to slick down those edges with some Creme of Nature Argan OIl edge control!
