How to Grow Your Edges Back | Sister to Sista

Girl, I know what it feels like to have thinned out edges! I know what it’s like to constantly have to style your hair to cover it up and how annoying that can be. I’ve been there. Through out my natural hair journey, I’ve learned how to better care for my hair and my edges. I’ve also done a couple of things that have allowed my edges to grow back (Thank God!). If you’re seeking help, let me help you. Don’t fret, it’s not as hard as it may seem; here are my tips.

This tip is very important. Although a lot of the styles you choose to do are cute, you may not be realizing how much tension it can be for placing on your edges. That goes for: tight buns, braids, Bantu knots etc. Try not to over do it with these hair styles or anything that will pull on your hair style . For a period of time, box braids became my worst enemy. I can say they were the major cause of my edges braking off. Sometimes the braid can be so tight or to heavy that your hair breaks off.

Jamaican Black Castor oil is your friend! Your BEST FRIEND! This oil is known to stimulate hair growth & I am a walking testimony that it actually works! (lol) I found that massaging Jamacian Black Castor Oil on my edges during the day and at night before bed helps with growth.

I am not experienced with hair supplements, but I’ve heard that they do work. You have different options, like, Biotin, Hairfinity, SugarBearHair and so much more. Keep in mind that when taking hair supplements like Biotin you have to drink a lot of water to avoid breakouts.
